Subhan Appointed as the President Director of PT Semen Gresik
Rembang, January 19, 2021- Semen Indonesia Tbk. (Persero) or (SIG) appointed Subhan, SE. MM. Ak., as the President Director of PT Semen Gresik (SG) since the beginning of 2021. Previously, Subhan had been entrusted to lead PT Semen Tonasa since 2017.
Being a cement company leader with one of Indonesia's most extensive market shares was undoubtedly a challenge for Subhan, especially amid the increasingly fierce cement industry competition and the Covid-19 pandemic conditions that affected all lines. Subhan's task was to bring SG as the leading company in business and operational processes not easy.
"The cement industry is currently required to be able to produce eco-friendly and efficient products," said Subhan in a press release, Tuesday (19/01).
Even though the industrial world had faced uncertain trials this year, Subhan believed that Semen Gresik's vision to become the most efficient and eco-friendly cement company in Southeast Asia could be realized.
Viewing the year 2020 with various achievements at the national and international levels achieved by Semen Gresik, there is a chance to realizing this vision and mission.
"The people at Semen Gresik have done a great job in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic in terms of readiness, coordination, synergy, and strategic initiatives. This is our capital in building optimism in 2021," said Subhan.
To compete amid global demands and trends in the cement industry in the future, Subhan continued, Semen Gresik had excellent advantages: an innovative concept, technological sophistication, and excellent environmental sustainability operations to meet the demand for green-labeled cement products.
Subhan believed that these three capitals and the strong internal commitment would enable Semen Gresik to face and overcome the various challenges. "Therefore, the company can still win the competition and become an important part of supporting the strategic performance of the SIG Group as well as becoming the leader in the national and regional cement industry," said Subhan.
Subhan had carried out transformations in all fields during his tenure at Semen Tonasa before being appointed as the President Director of Semen Gresik through various priority steps in realizing the corporate strategy. As the company leader, Subhan succeeded in bringing PT Semen Tonasa to survive as the market leader in Eastern Indonesia.
The achievement has also made the man born in Bone, May 1, 1971, entrusted with being the President Director of PT Semen Gresik as of January 1, 2021, based on the results of the
General Meeting of Shareholders. He is ready to encourage optimal corporate performance and do the best for Semen Gresik.
